We didn't build our product to give parents another reason or justification not to be at reading time.We built this products recognizing that many parents simply cannot be there to read their children books when they'd like to.While most of us grew up with our parents (or siblings) reading us books, with the end of the 9-5 world, many children are missing out on these critical learning experiences.Military deployment, shifts during bedtime, other children to tend to, hospitalization, and other factors can inhibit our ability to be there for our children when we'd really want to.We recognize the extreme value in parents reading books to their children and want to give busy parents the opportunity to give the closest thing possible to their children. This is not a replacement for time spent with your children, rather a way to help ensure your children are learning and growing.Hand-selected audiobooks, read in your voice, accompanied by effects to enhance the experience, and delivered in audiogram, read-along format, alongside fun quizzes to help children learn from the stories are not a substitute for their parents, they are another way for your to interact with your child and help them grow and learn.How long will the stories be?
Each story will be ~5-10 minutes. We want to keep the stories short enough that they can be finished in one sitting- and that the main ideas can be absorbed or start to be absorbed by children.Which stories will we receive?
Each month, we will hand select 5 short stories written by the literary greats of yesteryear such as Brothers Grimm, Charles Dickens, and more. Some examples include Hansel and Gretel, The Story of The Three Bears (Goldilocks) and moreThe stories will generally be presented in their original form- before adaptation and adjustment by later creators.In certain instances, we may very lightly edit the stories to remove harsh violence or similar items that a large group of our customers would appreciate being filtered out.Can I only buy this for my children?
You can purchase for any child you feel can benefit from it. Grandparents, aunts & uncles, and even godparents find that Read With Love audiobooks are an excellent gift.What ages are these books best for?
Each and every child and situation is different, but generally speaking we find our audiobooks are best given to children between the ages of 2 and 7.How are our voices cloned?
We use best-in-class, ethical-centric software to use a short voice sample of your voice and create a synthetic voice that sounds very similar to your voice.
AI based software is constantly improving allowing a cloned version of your voice to be created using a 10 minute, home-audio sample. Until recently, the same output would have required 8 hours in a professional studio.
You only need to provide a voice sample one time- and we can keep providing you new books in "your voice" on a monthly basis.
Will the voice sound exactly like mine?
No, not yet at least. Your voice is recreated using an advanced training system. The output will definitely sound quite similar to yours, and so far all the children we have asked have identified the voice as their parents. As parents, we trust you will make the right decision in how to explain this unique technology to your children (a learning experience in it of itself) but ultimately we found that children are comforted and enjoy hearing a voice that sounds similar enough to their parents.Will the audiobook be read exactly as I would read it?
The special way that parents read children books cannot yet be fully recreated. That being said, alongisde the improving technology that is making this closer to reality, we also adjust speeds and add effects to make the experience more engaging and immersive for your children. So while there is a trade-off on the reading style, the experience with our personalized audiobooks has been proven time and time again to be quite enjoyable and enhance learning in children.What do you do with my audio sample?Your audio is collected solely for the purpose of creating a voice clone using Descript’s Overdub software. We opted to work with Descript, not only because they have the best voice cloning solution, but also because they are extremely concerned and focused around ethics.We take your audio sample, use an equalizer to improve the quality, and then submit it for voice training to create a cloned, synthetic version of your voice.Ultimately, once your voice is cloned, we will not make any further use of your sample, nor submit it to any additional voice training models or share anywhere else without your explicit consent.What stories will we get?
Each month, we select 5 short stories for your children to learn and benefit from. Many of these stories are classics (i.e. Hansel and Gretel or The Sleeping Beauty) but we also include some less popular gems to introduce you and your children to additional stories.In what format are the audiobooks delivered?
We will provide you audiograms of each book, allowing for an engaging audiobook experience in which your children can read along or even begin to identify letters.Each audiogram is shared with you as an unlisted YouTube link- meaning, you can watch it using YouTube’s video player, but it will not show up in any Google/YouTube search and does not contain ads. The biggest factor in the quality of voice output will be:
1. Quality of the voice recording:
Using a better mic, in a quiet room without an echo or background noise (kids, pets, fans, windows closed), and speaking clearly and in an audible volume, will all have a positive impact on the recording quality.2. Relevance of the sample text: We provide sample texts from fairy tales to allow for a reading style similar to how you would want your audiobooks read. Using other texts for the audio sample can affect the output.3. Size of the audio sample. While we recommend at least 11 minutes, if you have a longer (high quality) or supplemental recordings, we can use this to improve the similarity of the synthetic voice to your original voice.

How To Improve Your Cloned Voice

How can I improve the quality of the voice used for my audiobooks?
While the voices are never going to be 100% the same as yours, the voice samples can be improved to allow for a better output.Here are the factors that have the biggest effect:
1. Use a Better Microphone:
If you are not using a high-quality microphone, and don't have a phone with a quality microphone, borrowing/buying a microphone can have a profound effect on the voice output quality.Here is one microphone we recommend2. Reduce Background Noise:
While we utilize technology to remove/minimize background noise, a room that is naturally quieter will produce a higher quality recording.Here are things to check for:
A. Close all windows
B. Record in a room with less background noises (children, pets, or appliances)
C. Turn off all fans
D. Turn off notification sounds on your computer and cell phone3. Record in a Suitable Room:
Recording in a small room, without an echo, and with absorbent materials (couches, mattresses, clothing) can be ideal for producing a high quality recording.4. Use a relevant text sample:
Using a text sample similar to what you want the output to be (i.e. fairy tales) will result in an output that reads more similarly to how you would read that text.
For this reason, our sample text, includes fairy tales similar to many of the stories we will be creating audiobooks for.5. Size/length of the audio sample
While we require a minimum of 10 minutes of voice sample, providing a longer sample, or additional samples, can help improve the output.

The explosion of Artificial Intelligence technologies is reason for excitement, but for some people also cause for concern.
We understand and respect these concerns and when we set out to build Read With Love, we vetted the various available providers of cloned voices and ultimately chose one with a strong focus on privacy and ethical use of AI.
While some of the leading voice cloning providers allow us to take any audio samples from anywhere (think: whatsapp voice notes, podcasts you may have been on, Instagram live, etc.) we are working with a provider that requires explicit consent before we can do any voice cloning.We also do not sell your voice to any databases or other software who pay for voice samples.We bear the extra costs involved in upholding these ethical standards in order to do our small part in helping ensure new technologies are used in ethical and safe manners.

We want all of our customers to be 100% satisfied with their audiobooks.We are working with best in class technology- but still the voices will not sound 100% human or exactly like you. We tried our audiobooks with children who enjoyed the experience and were insistent that the voices (even though not perfect) are their parents.If your child does not identify the voice as your own, or if you are dissatisfied with the quality of your product we have two options:A. We can submit additional audio samples from you for training then create new audio links. This will improve the output- but it still wil not sound 100% like your own voice.B.
